Maggie Noskeau This site describes what I do, and how I can help YOU Difficulties to overcome? Need an experienced Counsellor? As a qualified counsellor with over 18 years of experience, I can help you resolve your difficulties. I have worked in Private practice and in various organizations such as Relate and Childline, and people who come to see me have all types of personal issues, or relationship issues, or both. Counselling provides you with an opportunity to talk through and explore issues and difficulties, options and needs, gaining new understandings and acquiring new skills and strategies. Counselling is a shared journey where we will work at your pace, mainly on your inner feelings, experiences and relationships with others, whether in the past or in the present. Having the space and time to talk with a counsellor about your feelings and perceptions and getting clarity about what is right for you in your life can help you feel more confident to make your own decisions. In this way counselling can be empowering. Counselling also emphasises the uniqueness of each person as a whole individual and while my underpinning theoretical approach is Person Centred Counselling, because I have trained in various theoretical styles, I am able to work with you in a style which best suits you. As a counsellor I may not 'chat' or tell you much about myself, and indeed may not say much at all, at times. This may seem strange at first, but this is in order to give you the space and the focus. I am a member of, and therefore work within the ethics, criteria, and practices of the 'British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy' (BACP), and I am a member of the World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling [WAPCEPC].
